Diwali - The Festival of Lights

Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated over five days. It symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. People light diyas (oil lamps), decorate their homes, and set off fireworks. The third day is the main festival day, coinciding with the darkest new moon night of the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.
