The Mango and Ganesha

Once, Goddess Parvati presented a divine mango to her sons, Ganesha and Kartikeya. She declared that whoever circled the universe first would win the fruit. Kartikeya immediately set off on his peacock to travel the world. However, Ganesha, with his wisdom, simply circled his parents, Shiva and Parvati, considering them his universe. Impressed by his devotion and intelligence, Parvati awarded him the mango. This story illustrates the importance of wisdom and devotion over mere physical achievement in Hinduism.
